For over 60 years, St.
Vincents Special Needs Services (SVSNS) has been a trusted provider of specialized services for children and adults with multiple developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, such as cerebral palsy, acute brain injury, neuromuscular disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
Each year, more than 400 children, adults and their families receive services from the organization.
As a private provider of residential services for DDS, SVSNS group homes are licensed by DDS and proudly hold the distinction of consistently attaining maximum licensure and accreditation status.
Today, we operate 8 fully accessible licensed Adult group homes (each house is home to six residents) in six communities:
Bridgeport, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Newtown and Trumbull.
Job
Summary:
Assists with the planning and implementation of school activities for children.
Responsibilities:
Creates opportunities for enhancing student skills.
Plans and implements activities that are consistent with student abilities, interests and educational plans.
Assists with school inclusion, inclusion in alternate school settings, the development of appropriate curriculum, workshop/life skills, speech and language, art, music, and adaptive physical education.
Provide staff in-services.
Maintains data and other records according to protocol.
Acts as substitute in absence of the teacher.
Encourages student independence in communication, decision making and other activities.
Displays enthusiasm and appropriate energy level to maintain students motivation, cooperation, and participation.
Plans and implements activities that are consistent with student abilities, interests, ad educational plans.
Participates in arrival and dismissal practices.
Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications Education:
Bachelors degree required.
Work
Experience:
2 years experience working with children with disabilities preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
