Southern CT Gas is looking for several Gas Service Technicians to work at the Orange location.
Tasks
As a member of SCG's dedicated team of professionals, the successful candidates will become a well-rounded Gas Service Technician and will perform the following duties; respond to all types of natural gas related emergencies; complete utility related activities and maintenance of SCG meters and field equipment; and repairing all types of residential and/or commercial gas equipment owned by our customers.
Requirements
Must be a graduate of trade school or possess equivalent training in HVAC field. Must have a minimum State of CT S-2, G-2, or D-2 occupational license. Must have a good degree of mechanical and electrical aptitude as it relates to the servicing of HVAC equipment and must pass SCG's own utility 1st Responder and Meter Operations training programs. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Must have willingness to work nontraditional schedules and overtime. Must have general knowledge of the National Fuel Gas Code related to gas pressures, regulators, meters, gas piping systems, venting and installations of various gas appliances/equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
