For Sale: 1928 Ford Model A in Orange, Connecticut for sale in Orange, CT

Vehicle Description In 1928 the Model A Ford was introduced to the world and became instantly popular with the public.
After an 18 year run of the Model T, this was a big step forward for Ford.
Unlike the Model T, the Model A had a conventional 3 speed manual gearbox and had an overall more modern design.
Better described as being more luxurious than the old Model T, and for a low price.
The engine was still a flathead four cylinder L-head engine, but now with almost double the horsepower of a T and a water pump.
The 1928 and 1929 model years looked almost identical with a few changes between them, but they can best be described as the purest form of the Model A Ford.
The earliest of all the Model A's are referred to as an AR.
They are the very first version of the A with completely different features that were eventually changed only a few months into production.
The first tip off that a car is an AR is the red colored steering wheel, a feature only the AR's had.
Other features specific to the AR's were the straight louvered hood, parking brake handle on the left side rather than in the center near the gear lever, a pancake shaped powerhouse generator and a few other details that were only on the ARs making them one of the most sought after Model A's for collectors today.
Offered here is one of these very rare 1928 Ford AR's in roadster form.
From a collection of many years, this AR roadster wears an older restoration, but one that was done very properly.
Obviously a very complete and good original AR to begin with as it still retains all of its early parts such as the hood, fenders, generator steering wheel, brake handle and drum taillight.
Mechanically it runs and drives really well and is ready to be driven or shown.
The paint is overall very well done and the brightwork also still shows nicely.
If you are looking for a rare and unique Ford, look no further.
Being an early AR, and a roadster with a rumble seat it doesn't get much better.
