For Sale: 1950 Chrysler Town & Country in Orange, Connecticut for sale in Orange, CT

1 of 27
Vehicle Description 1950 was the very last year for Chrysler's post war woodie line and is a one year only model as a hardtop for the Town and Country.
Only 698 of these Town and Country Newport hardtops were built, after which the once favorite of movie stars and country club founders had become a thing of history.
Special features of these cars include the very first car of the Big Three to be fitted with four wheel disc brakes which Chrysler had pioneered in 1949 and all steel body panel construction with hand formed ash wood trim that was applied.
At $4,028 dollars when new, this was Chrysler's most expensive model outside of the large Crown Imperial sedans.
Seldom seen and just wonderful all around, it is an iconic and tasteful woodie that is still in fashion today.
Offered here is a fantastically well preserved original 1950 Town and Country Newport Coupe, one of the 698 produced and one of only a few that are still largely original.
Finished in its original color of bronze with a white top and very well complemented by its original ash wood trim with its original finish.
The Interior is entirely original and extremely charming with its brown leather and tan cord inserts.
It also retains most of its original chrome trim, grille and bumpers which is a testament to its wonderful preserved condition.
Mechanically it is in great condition with its original 324 cubic inch flathead eight cylinder and three speed fluid drive transmission all performing and running as they should.
Just out of a long time ownership, this Town and Country coupe is a very honest and charming woodie that has just the right amount of patina and wonderful originality.
