Vehicle Description Hudson has always been known for performance, from the very early days of motoring to its heyday in the 1950's with is step-down models achieving great success in NASCAR.
In 1947, Hudson continued its prewar design of the 1942 cars with a few cosmetic changes for both the Super Six and the Comnmodore Eight models.
Very handsome with a low roof line and a Vee windscreen giving the new cars a low and fast appearance.
Although they sold well in all body styles, very few convertibles exist today in both the eight and six cylinder models making them one of the most sought after post war Hudsons.
Offered here is a very nice and very special example of the rare 1947 Super Six convertible.
Just out of a long time ownership in Tennessee, this Super six, while boasting a very well executed and correct older restoration it hides something very special under the hood.
In 1947 Hudson offered a 212 cubic inch 6 cylinder that was a good engine, but Hudson was famous for the incredibly fast Hornet engine that came later that was a much larger 308 cubic inch six with twin down draft carburetors, also referred to as Twin H-Power.
This 1947 convertible has been upgraded with a later 308 cubic inch 170HP Hornet 6 cylinder engine with twin H-power.
Its a fantastic combination, with the very rare convertible of 1947 and the great and powerful Hornet engine, there isn't another Hudson around like this one.
It runs and drives great and is very fast.
It has a power top, and a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive.
If you are looking for the ultimate Hudson sleeper than this is it.
