Vehicle Description Hudson has always been known for performance, from the very early days of motoring to its later heyday in the 1950's with is step-down models achieving great success in NASCAR.
In the teens and early 1920's Hudson produced their six cylinder models that quickly gained notoriety for their speed.
For 1929 Hudson had its Model R that produced 92 horsepower with its great six cylinder overhead valve engine for speed dropped in a short wheelbase chassis and they also enlisted a few great coachbuilders to design their bodies such as Biddle and Smart and Briggs.
Hudson claimed they made 62 improvements to their cars for 1929 including the addition of double action hydraulic shock absorbers for a very smooth ride.
The model R Super Six is considered by many to be the best prewar Hudson there is, especially the short wheelbase open cars for their lightweight sporty looks.
These Hudsons were so fast that they could keep up with the most expensive and powerful cars of their time.
