Vehicle Description Oldsmobile in the early days of motoring were famous for their first mass produced Curved Dash as well as their luxurious high quality Limited and Autocrat models.
In the immediate postwar era they became positioned in the General Motors lineup as a mid-range car for successful middle class people.
In the 1950's Oldsmobile continued as a very nice quality car and was credited as becoming the first real muscle car in 1949 with the introduction of the Rocket V8 which was place in Oldsmobiles relatively smaller and lighter cars compared to the big heavy cars put out by other companies, some still with dated straight six and straight engines.
Fast forward to the 1960's, Oldsmobile had really swayed towards luxury and did not put so much effort into marketing their mechanical performance.
It all changed in 1964 with the introduction of the 4-4-2 package for the F-85 Cutlass.
The new 4-4-2 offered amazing performance and with that, Oldsmobile saw entry into the muscle car wars.
New exterior design came in 1966 and again in 1968.
Under the hood these cars were equipped with Oldsmobiles powerful 400 c.

overhead valve V8 with a 4 barrel carburetor that produced 350bhp at 5,000rpm.
The 4-4-2 has gone down in history as one of the most famous and best muscle cars of the era.
Offered here is one of the most pristine examples of a 1967 Oldsmobile 442 that exists today.
It was treated to a complete nut and bolt ground up restoration that is complete with photographs from start to finish.
All mechanicals and cosmetics were rebuilt and restored.
It is equipped with its original matching numbers engine and its original 4 speed manual transmission.
The underside is just as clean underneath as the rest of the car is.
Finished in its original colors of red with a black interior, every detail has been attended to.
Everything is as this car would have left the factory in 1967 including all pencil markings, decals and tags.
It has also won an AACA national first prize.
This is an incredible 442 and completely documented.
